Xiaomi Promises 5 Years of Software Support for Mix Flip and Xiaomi 14T Series
Xiaomi has announced its long-term software support plans for its recently launched Mix Flip foldable and the Xiaomi 14T series smartphones, both of which boast top-tier hardware and flagship-level cameras.
The company has confirmed that the Mix Flip, Xiaomi 14T, and 14T Pro will receive software updates from September 2024 to September 2029. Currently, the devices run Android 14 with either MIUI 15 (14T series) or HyperOS 1.0 (Mix Flip). This commitment suggests that these devices could potentially end their update cycle with Android 18/19 and MIUI 20 or HyperOS 6/7.
As a quick recap, the Xiaomi 14T Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, a 144Hz display with a peak brightness of 4000 nits, 120W fast charging, and a 50MP Light Fusion 900 camera system with a 3x telephoto lens. The standard 14T retains the 144Hz display but includes a 2x telephoto lens and a Sony IMX906 primary camera sensor. The Mix Flip foldable stands out with its unique form factor, a 4.01-inch external display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
