AMD Radeon RX 7300 Support Appears in AIDA64: A New Budget GPU on the Horizon

Good news for us PC-building fanatics who don't wish to splurge. The eagle-eyed tech community, @Olrak29_, has noticed something interesting. Popular software for a glimpse at what's inside your PC, AIDA64, has included support for an as-yet-unreleased AMD graphics card: the Radeon RX 7300.

That's not a gratuitous inclusion. The latest beta version of AIDA64 Extreme (version 7.65.7415, exactly) indeed has "Radeon RX 7300" and even lists "(NAVI 33)" in parentheses. To GPU leak spotters, this aligns with what leaker Komachi Ensaka leaked last year, meaning this may be more than a rumor.

What This Means to PC Builders

So why is this interesting. Well, it indicates that AMD might not be done with its RDNA 3-based RX 7000 series, especially at the budget side. Maybe we will see a new, budget graphics card for everyday gaming and productivity. Or, there's also the chance that the RX 7300 could be an OEM-only chip, which would imply that it would only show up in pre-built systems and not as a standalone graphics card like others.

It's interesting because, while AMD has moved to its RX 9000 series now, the previous RX 7000 series might not have had those super cheap ones like the RX 6500 XT or RX 6400 from the RX 6000 series. So, an RX 7300 would fill that gap nicely.

What Could the RX 7300 Offer

If the RX 7300 does hit store shelves, what can we expect in the way of performance. Based on what we've learned and the "X300-class" naming convention, here's a general estimate:

  • It will likely contain between 640 and 896 Stream Processors.
  • We might see it with 4GB or 6GB of VRAM.
  • The memory bus could be 64-bit or 96-bit.
  • Price-wise, it would likely target the $100 to $130 point, which would make it an extremely good choice for budget builds.

An RX 7400 has also been mentioned, but that's not as certain. If it does happen, it would then bump things up a little with about 1024 to 1536 stream processors and possibly 6GB of VRAM.

Until now, this relies on rumors and software listings, but the update of AIDA64 certainly gives a bit more credibility to the prospect of a new entry-level hero from AMD. Here's hoping.
