Asus Unveils New Hardware at Computex 2025

Asus has brought a fresh tidal wave of hardware to Computex 2025, and it appears they're attempting to make a statement. We have an updated TUF Gaming F16 laptop, a monitor with a refresh rate that will impress, and some fashionable new peripherals. Let's dive in.

The TUF Gaming F16 Gets a Modern Power Bump

The TUF Gaming F16 Gets a Modern Power Bump

Recall the TUF Gaming F16 at CES 2024. It's returned and it's received quite the internal refresh. Asus has equipped it with the very latest silicon, both from Intel and Nvidia, and even its more premium variants are now serious contenders for its ROG stablemates.

What's under the hood. You can equip this machine with as much as an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX "Arrow Lake-HX" CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU (with a maximum of 115 Watts). That's supported by as much as 32GB of speedy DDR5-5600 RAM and a roomy 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. To keep all that horsepower from melting, Asus has included their second-generation Arc Flow fans.

The display remains the same but good 16-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1440) IPS screen, which goes up to a smooth 165Hz. It's 400 nits brightness, 100% sRGB color gamut, and is friends with Nvidia G-Sync. It's driven by a big 90Wh battery, and you can top it up at up to 100W via USB-C. Other niceties include a Thunderbolt 4.0 port, the new Wi-Fi 6E standard, a full-sized keyboard (now with a dedicated Windows Copilot key), and a 1080p webcam for Windows Hello. All this is packed into a form factor that's a slender 17.9mm thick. We're still waiting to hear about pricing and availability, but it seems like a real winner.

ROG Strix Ace XG248QSG: Can Your Eyes Even Keep Up with 610Hz

ROG Strix Ace XG248QSG: Can Your Eyes Even Keep Up with 610Hz

If you're a competitive gamer for whom every millisecond counts, Asus has something that will possibly blow your mind. Behold, the ROG Strix Ace XG248QSG gaming monitor. First spotted in China, it's now making its global debut, and its headline feature is an almost unimaginable 610Hz refresh rate. Paired with a claimed 0.1ms response time, this 24.1-inch, 1080p "Super TN" panel is built for outright speed.

TN panels, on the other hand, are fast but at the cost of color occasionally. Asus says not so quick, promoting 90% DCI-P3 color coverage on this one. It also features their Extreme Low Motion Blur 2 (ELMB 2) tech, which Asus says enables the panel to be 65% brighter than the competition for better clarity. They're even throwing in some AI-powered features that are supposed to provide you with an advantage. The design also includes a new, smaller "Ergo Stand" for a tidier desktop setup. Connectivity-wise, you have DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. If 610Hz is overkill, it also has 240Hz and 480Hz modes. Price and availability are a mystery.

New ROG Peripherals: The Falcata Keyboard and Harpe 2 Ace Mouse

Asus also introduced a new keyboard and mouse duo.

ROG Falcata: A Split Keyboard with Magnetic Precision

The ROG Falcata is Asus's foray into the emerging trend of 75% split keyboard designs. It's not just about ergonomics; it's packed with tech. It features Asus's second-generation HFX V2 magnetic switches and ROG Hall Effect sensors, with a click latency of just 1ms wired (3.5ms wireless). A four-layer dampening system is intended to minimize noise. You can connect it via USB or 2.4GHz dongle with Asus's ROG Lightspeed technology. It also includes a detachable silicone wrist rest and multi-function button and wheel. Battery life is up to 102 hours with RGB on, and 122 hours with it off.

ROG Harpe 2 Ace: Esports Accuracy in a Featherlight Design

ROG Harpe 2 Ace: Esports Accuracy in a Featherlight Design

The successor to the original Harpe Ace, the ROG Harpe 2 Ace mouse features Asus's Aimpoint Pro sensor that has a staggering 42,000 DPI and even glass tracking. Co-created with a professional Valorant player, this 48-gram esports-calibrated mouse is ideal for claw and fingertip grip styles. It's right-handed only with two programmable buttons on the left side. There's a clever "Zone Mode" that boosts the polling rate from 1kHz to 4/8kHz, turning off RGB and power-saving functionality for those absolutely critical seconds. You get tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, wired) and ROG optical switches rated for 100,000 clicks.

The ROG Falcata keyboard and Harpe 2 Ace mouse both launch in July 2025, and the price will be announced closer to the time.
