NVIDIA RTX 5050 Gets Strong Signal via Maxsun EEC Listing - Midrange GPU Likely Incoming
Get your wallet gamers, because it looks like NVIDIA's midrange RTX 50 series card just gained one massive seal of approval. Even though NVIDIA officially hasn't said anything about it, PC hardware maker Maxsun recently filed an entire collection of GeForce RTX 5050 graphics cards with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). This normally is a significant signal that an item is merely on the brink.
Maxsun Spills the Beans via EEC Listings
Maxsun, a Chinese PC hardware firm, currently showcases the RTX 40 series on its homepage. Yet, these new EEC listings of today imply that they are getting ready to list the entire RTX 50 series. We found EEC listings of the rumored RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, 5070, 5060 Ti, and also of the unrevealed RTX 5060.
But the biggest surprise: Sixteen separate listings specifically for the GeForce RTX 5050. This essentially verifies the presence of this lower-end discrete GPU, which had only been rumored up until now.
What Do the Listings Tell Us About the RTX 5050
The listings tell us that Maxsun is preparing quite a range for the 5050:
- A number of product lines are listed, including familiar ones like iCraft and perhaps others like Transformer and Terminator.
- A new series name, "OTES," also came into being, possibly starting with the RTX 50 generation.
- The listings confirm an 8GB VRAM cap for the RTX 5050.
Memory and Potential Specs
What kind of memory will it use. That is unknown. There are hints at GDDR6, there are hints at the newer GDDR7. It will probably have a 128-bit memory bus, in sync with the just-around-the-corner RTX 5060 (also available with 8GB, hopefully GDDR7). Of course, expect the 5050 to have fewer CUDA cores and less power draw than the 5060.
Speaking of specs, rumors suggest that the RTX 5050 will allegedly utilize the GB207 GPU chip, 2560 CUDA cores, and power consumption at approximately 130W. Take these with a grain of salt for the moment.
Don't Expect it at Computex (Likely)
Although the RTX 5060 might be launched near Computex, it's doubtful NVIDIA would release the RTX 5050 simultaneously. Budget variants come later after the more expensive variants. Price and exact release dates are unknown at this point.
