Qualcomm Announces Earlier Snapdragon Summit: What to Expect

Qualcomm has some welcome news from Computex 2025. They've set the dates for their yearly Snapdragon Summit, and it's earlier this year than we're used to. That's where we get our first look at their newest and best chips for our computers and phones.

Snapdragon Summit Shake-Up Schedule

This year, the Snapdragon Summit will take place between September 23rd and 25th. That's a month earlier than normal. The highlight of the show is most likely to be the brand-new flagship smartphone and tablet processor: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2.

Whispers go that this chip is going to be a beast. This is said to be based on TSMC's leading-edge second-generation 3nm process. As for the speed, it is said that it will target up to the blistering speed of 4.4GHz. That would be an increase of about 30% from its predecessor's 4.32GHz. Now, that is one serious upgrade.

More Than Mobile Power

The Summit won't be solely about phone processors, however. We're also expecting to see the next generation of Snapdragon X ARM processors that will go into our personal computers. It's still largely under wraps what these will bring, so we're excited to see what Qualcomm has in store for the PC market.

A Trend of Earlier Releases

It's as if everything in the tech calendar is happening a bit sooner this year. We just got word that Google is set to drop the stable version of Android 16 slightly earlier this June, and Samsung is to get it soon after it's released. As suggested above, it could also mean new flagship phones like the upcoming Xiaomi or OnePlus will hit the market sooner than anticipated.

So, it looks like the second part of the year is going to be packed with exciting tech launches. Continue monitoring this space for additional details as we get nearer to the Snapdragon Summit.
