Xbox Home Screen Gets Personalized: Key Changes Announced
Microsoft heard you loud and clear. They've just announced some fantastic changes hitting the Xbox home screen that are designed to let us take charge of what we want to view and how we want to view it. Look for a more personal, flexible, and responsive experience when you turn on your console.
This patch is entirely about making your recently played section better for you. It's releasing to Xbox Insiders first, so if you're a part of the program, you'll see it first.

Let's break down what exactly these new personalization features entail for us gamers:
- Hide That Clutter. Those system apps that sometimes pop up in your "recently played" list will soon be hidden. Your focus will then remain squarely on your games and entertainment apps, leading to a much tidier picture.
- Pin Your Favorites. This is a doozy. You can pin your favorite games or apps up to three right to your "recently played" list. No more rooting them out to locate them. Even if you switch over to a different game, your pinned items will be there at the top for easy access.
- A Simpler, Cleaner Look. The whole look and feel of the homepage is being revamped. Microsoft is reducing the number of tiles that appear in the recently played list to make it simpler and cleaner looking.
Microsoft is pointing out that these are not just random changes. They're a direct answer to feedback from the community of Xbox players. Always great to hear that developers listen to what players want.
If you are an Xbox Insider and part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead or Alpha rings, you'll be testing out these new features first beginning this week. For the rest of us, we'll have to wait a bit longer, but it's wonderful to know these updates are on the horizon.
