Xiaomi is finally introducing a game-changer: an external battery that weighs in at an incredible 8.7mm thick. To make things even cooler, built-in magnets allow the bank to just snap onto the back of the smartphone, offering power without adding any significant weight. Encased in elegant aluminum, it comes in different color options to go with your style.
Don't let this thin profile fool you; this power bank delivers its 5000mAh capacity – just enough to give your phone quite a lift. It even supports wireless magnetic charging at a maximum of 7.5W, so just stick it on and go.
But a step further; it has a USB-Type C port. This port is not only used for charging the power bank but also provides an output of 22.5W. This means you can even charge a second device at the same time if there was a need to - pretty handy, huh.
Xiaomi has also given some thought to its cooling. The special graphene thermal interface layer (which is a fancy way to refer to a heat-spreading material) is used in this power bank during wireless charging, which can sometimes generate some heat. This interface covers an impressive 826 mm² and works alongside the built-in protection systems against overheating and other overload situations to noticeably increase safety in operation.
Currently, this pretty-new power bank has been launched in China, selling at 169 yuan or about $24. Let's hope it reaches more regions soon.
