Any speculations about the wallet impact have been advanced for the Radeon RX 9060 XT. This rumor has become almost an expectation from the tech world, especially as the formal launch is already fast approaching, while quite a few retailers are already setting up their ducks in a row at this time.

Most often, products will appear in listings a little ahead of their official releases, as is the case with a Californian retailer known as Central Computers, which gives an advance glimpse of the product. There are three ASRock versions of the Radeon RX 9060 XT listed by ASRock; the Challenger models and the more premium Steel Legend series.

Here's what they've shown:

  • – An 8GB ASRock RX 9060 XT Challenger model that retails for $319.
  • – A 16GB ASRock RX 9060 XT Challenger model, for $369.
  • – The 16GB ASRock RX 9060 XT Steel Legend variant, which costs $389, is not presently available for clicking "buy" - AMD has to dictate when sales will actually begin-or brought to the fore, these images aren't yet functional.

ASRock has already made a move to officially showcase these cards. We do know that the Challenger series sports a dual-fan design while the Steel Legend steps it up with a triple-fan setup, a cool white shroud, and a touch of RGB lighting.

These are not just the normal cards. Both of the Challenger ones are rated for a boost clock of 3290 MHz, while the Steel Legend 16GB models are rated at a higher 3320 MHz. Given that the base models are expected to offer a boost frequency of around 3.13 GHz, naturally these factory-overclocked versions come at a slightly higher price.

For context, the suggested launch prices by AMD for RX 9060 XT were set at $299 and $349 for the 8GB and 16GB versions, respectively. Hence, these first indications have implied that ASRock overclocked editions will come at a premium of $20-to-$40. The big question, as always, is whether these prices will hold once the cards officially hit the market.

Recent graphics card launches have taught us that MSRPs may not actually be rules but rather all-too-often feel like suggestions to avoid embarrassing discussions. The recently observed behavior of cards like the RTX 50 and some others in the RX 9070 family further supports this.

The RX 9060, however, has not targeted direct competition with any other graphics card near this threshold price; it is also considered a budget model under $400, apart from the middlemost 8 GB variant of the RTX 5060 Ti. But again, judging by the trend seen in the last years, it might not be easy to keep that 16GB model sub-$400 in the real world. We'll have to wait to see how things shake out on the actual launch when it happens, though.
