Garmin just put out the Quatix 8, a new watch for use at sea. This watch comes after some leaks and joins the Fenix 8 line as a tool made for the sea.
The Quatix 8 uses the tech base of the Fenix 8, adding Garmin's Elevate Gen 5 heart beat sensor. You can get it in two sizes, 47mm and 51mm, both with a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED screen and a built-in LED light.
The big thing about the Quatix 8 is its sea tools. It works with BlueChart maps for clear sea maps. It even takes voice orders for Chartplotter via its own mic. Also, its speaker lets users make and get calls when the watch links with a phone over Bluetooth.
Made for the water, the Quatix 8 can stay under up to 100 meters and is safe to dive down to 40 meters. Battery life changes with size the 47mm lasts about 16 days, and the 51mm can go up to 29 days on one charge.
You can order the Garmin Quatix 8 starting today. Prices start at $1,199.99 for the 47mm. The 51mm costs $100 more, so it's $1,299.99. You can read more on Garmin's own site.
