Gigabyte Brings Out "Ultra Turbo Mode" for Z890 Motherboards and Arrow Lake CPUs
Gigabyte has shown a new boost for its Z890 motherboards called Ultra Turbo Mode. It works at the BIOS level to make Intel’s Core Ultra 200S (Arrow Lake) desktop processors work better by fine-tuning CPU, memory, and power.
Gains in Speed and Main Uses
Gigabyte says Ultra Turbo Mode can up performance big time. They say gaming frame rates could rise by up to 35% and memory speed could go up by as much as 68% as per AIDA64 tests with speedy DDR5 setups.
This mode adds to Intel’s 200S Boost profile idea. This overclock feature brings small gains by tuning memory settings and upping the clock speeds of parts like the Next Generation Uncore (NGU) and Die-to-Die (D2D) links.
Three Separate Speed Profiles
Unlike just one profile from Intel, Gigabyte's Ultra Turbo Mode has three BIOS options, each made for different uses:
- LV1 Intel 200S Boost: This sticks to Intel’s 200S Boost specs.
- LV2 Turbo Mode: This level has more CPU and memory overclock tweaks from Gigabyte for "aggressive optimization" for gaming and daily use.
- LV3 Extreme Mode: This option aims to use the full might of the system parts, though exact tweaks are not shared.
For those who don’t want this mode, you can turn off Ultra Turbo Mode fully.

When You Can Get It and Who Can Use It
The new Ultra Turbo Mode is sent out as a free BIOS update for all Gigabyte’s Intel Z890 motherboard series. Users can get the right update file from Gigabyte's site, making sure it fits their exact motherboard model and type.
Gigabyte notes the best results with Intel's Core Ultra 2 "K-SKU" processors, mainly these CPUs:
- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
- Intel Core Ultra 7 265K
- Intel Core Ultra 5 245K
