Honor announces the entry of their latest X6c into the low-priced smartphone world, making it a whirlwind of activity. If you are searching for a medium-suited phone at a relatively moderate price, it must be worth checking out. It offers some great specs such as a silky 120Hz display and a wonderful battery so far.
Compared to its predecessor,-X6b- the Honor X6c does bring in some welcome improvements. One major upgrade is a slightly larger battery capacity- 5,300mAh, which is an upgrade from 5,200mAh. It may not seem like much, but trust me, this little bump certainly helps with all-day use. Interestingly, Honor has also added a dedicated AI button into this model.
From dimensioning perspective, it really isn't such a heavy phone, with measurements of 163.95 x 75.6 x 8.39 mm and weighing close to 199 grams. You get 35 watts wired charging once you plug the device in. Nice to see it with an IP64 rating, so it can handle some splash, but not completely waterproof, just in case.
In terms of cameras, things remain unchanged. The X6c retains a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture from the previous model. There's an auxiliary lens, although it seems that its main purpose is to fill the camera module. For selfies and video calls, you have a 5MP front-facing camera.
Powering the Honor X6c under the hood is the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset. We will have the selection for RAM (6GB or 8GB), and internal storage (128GB or 256GB). Also, if you want to go crazy and want additional storage, it can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card- good for hoarders of media.
The display is a 6.61 inches LCD display. It has a resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, but what stands out here is the 120Hz refresh rate for very smooth scrolling and animation. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, quite nice for an entry-level phone, which means it could be easier to use outside.
The Honor X6c runs MagicOS 9 based on Android 15 out of the box. Honor has not given any details about long-term software support, and this is something potential buyers might want to look forward to.
If someone is interested, the Honor X6c comes in some striking colors: ocean cyan, moonlight white, and midnight black. The starting price is RM 599 (which amounts to approximately 141 USD).
