Recently, online images surfaced that purportedly show a prototype of the Google Pixel 10 Pro. We have most likely obtained an advanced sneak preview from all angles regarding the more premium version of the forthcoming Google smarts. And, as expected, juicy internal details have also trotted in.

This so-called "Design Verification Test" (DVT) leaked unit from a Chinese social media outlet gives a peek into the heart of Pixel 10 Pro—Tensor G5 chip. The information hints at an 8-core CPU setup. Labeled as one powerful Cortex-X4 core mixed with a number of Cortex-A725 cores, the leak suggests two of one kind and three of another, along with two energy-efficient Cortex-A520 cores.

By the way, the app reporting this spec might have mixed one detail up the Tensor-G5 is a 5nm chip. However, many previous whispers pointed toward Google using TSMC's advanced second-generation 3nm process for its next-gen silicon. Further adding to the prototype's specs said to have 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Android 16 was the supposed operating system running on this prototype.

If a radical design was what people began to expect, it might be safe to denote some disappointments. Leaked images are showing the Pixel 10 Pro to have more or less the same look of the Pixel 9 Pro. One difference, of course, is a much bigger camera bump on the back. This suggests the rest of the phone's body is possibly a bit slimmer than that of its predecessor. On the back, three primary cameras have been shown to be visible in the photos.

Some minor changes have also been witnessed like changing the SIM card slot position at the top and the speaker openings at the bottom. The glass coveringthe camera bar now seems to stretch almost to the edges, and the metal frame now looks a bit sleeker.

If current rumors were to hold, while the hardware changes beyond the Tensor G5 might be rather minimal, it is the new AI features that Google is expected to play upon to distinguish the Pixel 10 Pro. The cameras are also expected to gain some new software tricks, like 4K slow-motion video at 120fps recording, and native 8K recording at 30fps possibly aided with AI tools for easier edit.

Remember, this is a leaked prototype; commercial units usually turn out to be a carbon copy of these DVT versions, but then again, Google could always do small aesthetic changes before the official launch later this year. So as things stand, it is wise to take these details with a pinch of cynicism. We shall keep you posted as more information comes through.
