MindsEye Game Release Nears Leslie Benzies Build a Rocket Boy Faces Uncertainty With Key Departures CFO GC Exit

There has been plenty of talk about the game MindsEye, produced by Leslie Benzies, a former producer of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Not all buzz is good, as apparently, the fact that some seem to anticipate the release in June while others are freely predicting doom and gloom about the game's future has sent even more shockwaves throughout the already troubled developers, Build a Rocket Boy.

Due to public reports, whether officially confirmed or unconfirmed, two key players in the Build a Rocket Boy team walked away from the company barely a week before the MindsEye rifle shop opening. Word has it that Paul Bland, CFO, and Riley Graebner, GC both submitted their resignation early in June.

Graebner apparently expressed pride in the work of his team, but the timing of leaving raised insecurity among gamers about the whole scenario. Most people started reading this as a worrisome sign, a possible "abandon ship" casting right before the game launch.

Certainly, the news of the resignations has led to many a discussion. On the official Discord server for the game, one user voiced the thought many are likely entertaining:

Usually, people don't give up right before releasing a probable hit. If you were Rockstar's CFO a week before GTA VI launched, would you resign

It is a good question. Important people generally want to be at a project's successful conclusion. The last-minute exits give rise to speculation about what might be going wrong internally and prognosis of the project's success.

Nevertheless, amid these rising doubts, MindsEye is coming on June 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Leslie Benzies and his studio are said to have far-reaching plans for this new IP, aiming to develop it for at least 10 years. Time will tell whether these exiting members represent cosmetic turbulence or a herald of greater turmoil ahead for MindsEye.
