The New Day One Update that is supposed to be extremely essential for the new Nintendo Switch 2 is now rolling out to the consoles. This update provides a thousand feature opportunities for those who received their consoles a little in advance.
So, what does that update actually do. This is what the leakers say, it goes ahead and switches on all the network functionality that we have been eagerly waiting for, meaning you can finally enjoy:
- Playing your favorite Nintendo Switch classics.
- Nintendo Switch Online services.
- Enter GameChat with friends.
- Take care of your Virtual Game Cards.
- Share epic gameplay moments by uploading screenshots and videos.
- Connect to the Nintendo Switch App for checking captures and more.
And, maybe most notably, because these features are now switched on, the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop is open for business. Start browsing those launch titles.
There has been a lot of anticipation for Nintendo's next-generation system, and soon anyone lucky enough to own it will be able to experience it. Launch titles will include the much-discussed Mario Kart World and several exciting third-party games.
Among the most exciting talks is the port of Cyberpunk 2077. It is speculated that this title will serve as a true testament to the Switch 2 capabilities, especially because it is one of the first titles on the platform that uses NVIDIA DLSS technology for image enhancement and performance boost. Interesting is how CD Projekt Red's tech lead said that this upscaling tech, combined with the Switch 2's RAM and faster storage, is what puts the console ahead of the PlayStation 4. Indeed, an example of this was demonstrated with the fact that the Phantom Liberty expansion, which couldn't run on last-gen consoles, is making its way to the Switch 2.
The global launch of Nintendo Switch 2 is set tomorrow, June 5th. There are a few exceptions; China and Central America, for most of the rest, the next generation of Nintendo gaming is only hours away.
