The new Redmi K Pad gaming tablet was taken apart and tested by the WekiHome YouTube channel before its official launch. This came after a sneak peek at the Redmi K80 Ultra phone.
A first look at the Redmi K Pad shows many top-end features:
- Screen: It has an 8.8-inch IPS display with a 3008x1880 pixel count, a 160Hz rate, and support for Dolby Vision.
- CPU and Memory: Runs on a Dimensity 9400+ chip, with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
- Cooling: Has an aluminum alloy vapor room of 12,050 mm² for cooling.
Tests by WekiHome show the Redmi K Pad has strong gaming skills. It ran top mobile games well, kept a steady frame rate, and did not get too hot. It did better than other small tablets and matched larger gaming tablet setups.
The tear-down showed a metal body of 6.46 mm thick, and the tablet's weight is 336 grams. Inside, there's a cushion insert to guard key parts from fall harm. The main board is set in the middle to help spread heat evenly.
- Battery Size: The unit has two battery cells with a 7500 mAh total.
- Power: Comes with a 67W charger, can fully charge in about 60 minutes.
- Direct Power: The tablet can use wall power for long gaming times, which might help save battery life.
Other key info includes:
- Port: A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt mode.
- Cameras: A 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
