The game maker from South Korea, Shift Up, has big news. Their game, Stellar Blade, has sold over 3 million games around the world. The PC game sold 1 million of these in just three days after coming out.
Shift Up also shared how well the game did on Steam. Stellar Blade is now the top Sony game there, played by more people at the same time than any other. Out of over 15,600 reviews, 94% liked the game.
In a talk with This Is Game, Shift Up's boss, Kim Hyung-tae, spoke about what comes next. He hopes Stellar Blade 2 might come out in 2027, but it's not sure yet.
Kim said, "As we made the DLC, it got so big, we moved to make the next game... Right now, our team is all on the PC game, so not much is done on the next game. We're at a stage where we're thinking about how to bring new ideas for the future."
He knows getting the game out by 2027 is a big aim because the first game just came out in 2024. "It would be great to have it by 2027, but with only three years left, we'll try our best. But I am sure it will be a great game."
The boss also spoke about the story in Stellar Blade, which some felt was weak. He said they first had a bigger story plan with more about the characters, but had to cut back because of costs. He noted that making games rich in story is still new in Korea.
Kim added, "Yes, the story had gaps... if we get to make the next one, I think we can tell a richer story." This shows he wants to make the story better next time.
