8BitDo has shown off a new special Mech Break keyboard made with the game Mecha Break. Also, the firm has given an update on when the 8BitDo 64 Controller will come out and started taking early orders for it.

8BitDo's Retro 87 Mech Keyboard Mecha Break: Panther Edition is the latest special model. It joins others like NES, Famicom, and Xbox types. Here are its main bits:

  • Switches: Kailh Glaze Jellyfish Pro linear switches.
  • Build: Top-mount look with an aluminum plate and a board you can swap.
  • Keys: Matte UV coated keys.
  • Extra bits: n-Key rollover and 8-mode RGB light.
  • Connects by: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, and USB.
  • Works with: Windows and Android, can be set up with the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2.
  • Battery: A 4,000mAh battery lasts up to 280 hours (2.4GHz) or 300 hours (Bluetooth).

First told about in October 2024, the 8BitDo 64 Controller was delayed like the Analogue 3D console it fits with. Now, a new date is set.

You can pre-order this on Amazon for $39.99 in the US and £34.99 in the UK, in black or white. It comes out on July 30, 2025.

Made for the Analogue 3D, it also works with the Nintendo Switch (includes N64 Online), Android, and Windows by Bluetooth or USB. It has a Hall Effect stick with a ring that won't wear out, a dipped rubber stick cap, classic C-buttons, and shakes for the Analogue 3D and Switch.
