Apple Might Launch Its First Foldable Phone at a Lower Cost Than We Thought, Says Analyst Report
Analysts at UBS, a big money firm in Switzerland, have shared news on Apple's first phone that can bend. They've looked into how much the parts might cost, giving an idea of the end price in shops.
What the UBS Report Says
From what’s shared, Apple plans to bring out a foldable phone that opens wide in 2026. Here's what they think it might be like:
- Expected Price: Between $1800 and $2000.
- How Many Made: They plan to make 10 to 15 million of them.
- Possible Profit: Between 53% and 58%.
Breaking Down Costs
The report puts the total parts cost at $759. That’s 4% less than the parts cost of a similar Samsung model, noted at $790.
The analysts say that Apple can cut costs mainly on memory, cameras, and some chips. They think this cost-saving is why the phone could be cheaper than first thought.
Change in Expected Price
The $1800 to $2000 price range is a drop from earlier guesses. Before, it was thought Apple might charge $2000 to $2400. Now, the UBS report thinks good cost management might let Apple sell it for less.
