Nintendo Switch 2 Overheating Issues Users Report Console Gets Too Hot Slow Screen and Battery Life Problems

Nintendo Switch 2 Users Report Overheating Issues

Many Nintendo Switch 2 users say their new gaming systems heat up too much. Nintendo did not give these consoles to the press before they went on sale, so these reports are the first we are seeing. Problems like a slow screen and short battery life had already come up.

The Switch 2 seems to get very hot when people play on it. Some say it gets too hot to hold. It seems this heat can also make the system break down or make games stop working.

This heat issue shows up not just in big games like Cyberpunk 2077, but also in smaller games like Pokemon.

When the Switch 2 first came out, people started to talk about the heat. A Reddit user said their game system got so hot while in its dock that it had to shut down on its own twice.

Others in the chat said the same thing happened to them. They also said the cooling fans turn on loud to fight the heat.

Nintendo tells users to take the dock off, let the system cool off, and keep it where air can move around it better.

Some tests by Tom's Hardware say the Switch 2 gets as hot as 47 degrees Celsius in the dock, which they think is okay. This tells us not all game units have this problem, just some. Maybe the July heat adds to the issue, too.
