NVIDIA Puts DLSS 4 Plugin Out for Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6
NVIDIA now lets people use its DLSS 4 tech with the new Unreal Engine versions. They have made a plugin that works from version 5.2 to 5.6. This addition brings DLSS 4 to Unreal Engine 5.5 and the new 5.6, letting game makers use high-end AI to make their games look better.

When You Can Get It and What It Does
The DLSS 4 tech started with the GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. It's a big step up in AI making pictures. Although its best parts are just for the RTX 50 series, the main DLSS 4 setup works with all RTX GPUs. Makers need to use NVIDIA's own plugin for their game making setup.
Now on NVIDIA's website, there's help for those working on Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6 to make their games better with these new tools.
How NVIDIA's Transformer Model Helps
At the heart of DLSS 4 is NVIDIA's Transformer model, which just got past its test phase. It's a big change from the older CNN model used before DLSS 3.5.
The main thing about the Transformer model is that it uses less VRAM by 20%. Adding it to Unreal Engine 5.6 helps make games run smoother and look better while using less of your computer's power.
What DLSS 4 Adds to Unreal Engine
With the new plugin, game makers can add many DLSS 4 things to their games, like:
- Better Image Resolution
- Creating More Frames
- Dealing with Multiple Frames
- Improving Rays
Mixing DLSS 4 with Unreal Engine 5.6
Unreal Engine 5.6 by itself makes the game run better on CPUs and GPUs than older versions. With DLSS 4's new features, game makers have strong tools to boost how well their game plays and looks.
