AMD Strix Halo Laptop Design Shown by Sixunited in China
There's a new laptop out using AMD's Strix Halo tech. It was shown off by Sixunited, a company in China that makes tech for other big tech firms. This isn't the first time Strix Halo has been used it's in some mini-PCs too. But this laptop, called the XN77-160M-CS, is a rare type made so far.
Inside Tech
The Sixunited XN77-160M-CS is made for AMD's Ryzen AI Max 300 chips. It wasn't said what chip is used exactly. It's set up for strong work with two choices:
- A high 120 Watts.
- A lower 85 Watts.
Both choices use two fans to keep it cool.
Screen and Battery
It has a 16-inch screen that can show:
- 2560 by 1600 pixels.
- LCD or OLED.
- Updated 165 times a second.
- As bright as 500 nits.
It can use a big 99.9 Wh battery, the most you can take on planes.
Saving, Memory, and Plugging In
There are two slots for fast SSD storage. Its RAM can't be changed and is fixed to the board. It has lots of ports:
- Two USB 4.0 ports
- Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports
- A spot for SD cards
- An Ethernet spot
- An HDMI 2.1 port
- A 3.5 mm jack for sound
Availability and Pricing
No price tag yet for the XN77-160M-CS. Since Sixunited makes it for other firms, you can't buy this one as it is. It's more like a model for other brands to use and sell under their names.
