Microsoft Data Shows Big Drop in Windows Users

A Microsoft boss has said that there's a big fall in how many use Windows now. They say there are now "more than one billion" users, which is a lot less than what they said some years back.

Looking at the User Data

The count of "more than one billion" active users each month was given by Microsoft's Vice President, Yusuf Mehdi. This is less than a 2022 report, saying there were "more than 1.4 billion active users of Windows 10 or 11."

Writers think this means about 400 million users are gone. When such big bosses talk, it's not just guesswork. It can change how people see the firm and its shares. If it were 1.3 or 1.4 billion, they would have told us.

Why User Numbers May Have Dropped

Microsoft has not said why, but many think it's because more folks are now using phones and tablets day by day.

Also, PCs were sold more when the virus was at its worst. Now, 3.5 years after that high point, it looks like fewer people are using them.
