Aoostar Starts MACO Mini PC Line with AMD Ryzen and OCuLink
Aoostar has just let out its new MACO line of mini PCs in China. The first one up has two builds, one with an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 8845HS and the other with a Ryzen 7 255H. Both kinds have a small size and an OCuLink spot to link more parts.
Main Power and Pictures
The first MACO mini PC packs AMD's Hawk Point chips. You can pick from the Ryzen 7 Pro 8845HS or the Ryzen 7 255H. Both choices bring in the Radeon 780M GPU, letting the unit run most games at 1080p with low picture set-ups.
Ways to Link and Add More
A big plus is having two USB4 spots and one OCuLink spot, which lets users hook up an outside GPU (eGPU) for much better game play. The full list of ports has:
- 2x USB4
- 1x OCuLink
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x HDMI
- 1x DisplayPort
- 2x 2.5G LAN
- 1x 3.5 mm audio plug
These ports let the mini PC link to up to four screens at once.
What's Inside and Extra Bits
For keeping data, the setup has two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots. It also spots two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots for memory. Extra key bits are a built-in finger touch scanner that works with Windows Hello and a "Glacier" cool gear meant to keep it calm under big jobs.
Costs and When You Can Buy It in China
The Aoostar MACO mini PC starts off sold as a bare bones kit in China with these costs:
- Ryzen 7 255H Barebone CNY 1,999 (about $299)
- Ryzen 7 Pro 8845HS Barebone CNY 2,299 (about $349)
Aoostar hasn't shared yet on how much it will cost around the world or when it will be up for grabs, but a global launch is thought to be coming soon.
