Crimson Desert Release Put Off to Early 2026
Pearl Abyss has put off the release of their much-awaited open-world action RPG, Crimson Desert. It was first set to come out in late 2025, but now it has been moved to the first part of 2026. This was shared in the company's Q2 2025 income talk.
Why is Crimson Desert Late
Many want to know why. Here's what you need to know, from the team themselves.
When will the game come out now
It is set to come out between January and March of 2026.
Why the delay
Pearl Abyss said the world-wide launch of a big game brings big plan issues. They need more time for "working out times and teaming up with many helpers" that handle things like selling the game in stores, adding voices, and getting it okayed for game systems.
Any new release date at Gamescom
No. Pearl Abyss first wanted to share the date then, but will now wait for a better time. But, they will still show the game at Gamescom, PAX West, and the Tokyo Game Show to keep up their push.
A Big Plan for a Better Start
Even though it's sad to see the game pushed back, Pearl Abyss sees it as a "big plan to make sure it does well." For a huge new game like Crimson Desert their first big AAA game for game systems a solid start is key.
This extra time lets the team fix hard plan problems that are key for a clean start in all places. For players, this means the game will likely live up to the high hopes set by its great gameplay videos and early tests.
The team said sorry for the change, noting, "We thank you for keeping up with us, and we will work hard to bring you an even better game later."
