The New XPlus XRival Mini PC Comes Out with AMD Strix Halo at a Good Price
A brand new mini PC, named XPlus XRival, is now out. It uses the high-end Ryzen AI Max+ 395 "Strix Halo" APU from AMD. This new player wants to bring top-level work, mainly in how it shows things, at a much lower price than the others it is up against.
Main Work and Details
The work of the XPlus XRival is all about its AMD APU. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 has 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads. This puts its multi-core work close to Apple M3 Max and Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX if we look at test scores.
The main star is the built-in GPU. The RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 8060S iGPU has 40 Compute Units. Its work is way ahead of an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. This kind of power is new in mini PCs that don’t have a separate GPU.
Memory and Storage
Memory: 96 GB of LPDDR5X is shared between the CPU and iGPU.
Storage: 2 TB of M.2 2280 storage that you can change. There is another M.2 slot for more space.
Look, Ports, and Links
The XPlus XRival has a bold look with "gamer vibes." It’s very small, only 22 x 11.9 x 5.7 cm. Inside, it uses a dual-fan, triple-pipe system to stay cool, but real-world tests are still needed.
It has a lot of ports, including:
- 3x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 2x USB4
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x SD 4.0 card slot
- 1x 2.5G Ethernet port
It links with others via WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Price and Place in the Market
The XPlus XRival mini PC costs $1,479, and that’s with a special first-time price cut (its been already soldvout). This makes the device a very good deal compared to other same-level Strix Halo-powered mini PCs from big-name brands.
