Intel's Core Ultra 5 230F is the improved version by 5-6% score-wise in the first PassMark test.
The Intel Core Ultra 5 230F desktop is an exclusive release for the Chinese market, and it is making its debut in the PassMark benchmark for evaluating performance between the new device and its Core Ultra 5 counterparts, the 225 and 225F.
PassMark Benchmark Results
The Core Ultra 5 230F recorded a single-thread performance rating of 4,656 and a multi-thread performance rating of 33,177. These scores place the Core Ultra 5 230F 5 to 6 percent ahead of the Core Ultra 5 225 and 225F single and multi-core performance ratings.
Differences from Core Ultra 5 225/225F
While the 230F shares the same 10-core 10-thread configuration (6 P-cores, 4 E-cores) with 65-121W TDP range as that of 225/225F, its performance advantages have resulted from specific hardware-related advantages:
- Higher Clock Speeds: Higher P-Core and E-Core clocks
- More L3 Cache: 4 MB larger L3 cache
Market Orientation and Performance Prospects
With the increased clock speeds and larger cache sizes, the Core Ultra 5 230F will generally outperform the majority of applications and games. Previous tests showcased its outstanding performance with games, where it competed neck-to-neck against the Core Ultra 5 245K despite having too few cores and a smaller L2 cache. It will thus consider 230F as a very well positioned budget SKU within Core Ultra 5's portfolio targeting this market.
