Battlefield 6 & REDSEC Season 1 Extended; Season 2 Postponed to February
With the creators of Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play experience REDSEC announcing an extension for Season 1 of their game, Season 2, which was originally slated to end on January 20, will now start on February 17. The developers stated that this change allows them to have some extra time polishing and refining Season 2.
What To Expect in the Extension
Season 1 shall be officially extended on January 20 with an update. New contents and activities shall be made available for the players. Progress on the Season 1 Battle Pass will continue until the beginning of Season 2.
- New weekly challenges will be available.
- A new Frostfire Bonus Path shall be introduced.
- Extended periods of Double XP and Daily Login rewards shall be there.
The developers also said that Battlefield Labs will be strengthened as the public preview environment for future game updates, nearing the end of development.
The Frostfire Bonus Path
The Frostfire Bonus Path is the new content coming on January 27. Here, players can unlock new customization rewards and XP boosts.
Frostfire Rewards
Rewards are available to all, with some bonuses for the Season 1 Battle Pass owners.
- Free rewards consist of Hardware XP Boost, Vehicle Skin, and playercard items.
- Battle Pass Owner rewards consist of new Weapon Package, Career XP Boost, and more customization items.
How to Close Progress

Concurrently, players may also progress through this path in the main Season 1 Battle Pass. All 11 tiers of the path require 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock.
Events and Rewards to Come
In addition to Frostfire, the extension period will be featuring certain events.
- A Valentine's Day in-game event.
- A new set of Daily Login Rewards.
- A few Double XP Weekends.
The dev team will provide another update concerning Season 2 in February, with a broader 2026 roadmap for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC coming very soon.
