Mario Tennis Fever Overview Trailer Reveals New Gameplay Features

Nintendo has released an overview trailer for Mario Tennis Fever, which has been described as the "most loaded Mario Tennis ever." With 38 playable characters, a record for the series, the game looks set to disclose.

Fever Rackets Introduced

The trailer dives into the brand new feature for the game known as Fever Rackets. These are special rackets, unlocked during a match by keeping the rally going. Once activated, a Fever Racket shot could bring tons of fun by throwing down all sorts of obstacles and elemental effects against the opponent like:

  • Ice or Fire on the court
  • Shock the opponent
  • Throw more obstacles in the way of the opponent

Notably, there will be 30 types of Fever Rackets, all with their unique abilities to maximize chaos in match conditions.

An Array of Game Modes for Every Type of Player

Many game modes will be available to suit different styles:

Classic Mode: Just for the sake of traditionalists, this mode removes the Fever Rackets mechanic, putting everybody on an equal playing field.

Chaotic Modes: On top of the regular mode with Fever Rackets, other modes bring in some more insanity, including one based on Super Mario Bros. Wonder, where hitting Wonder Flowers transforms the court in thrilling ways

Adventure Modes: A single-player mode acts as gameplay tutorials before players engage in multiplayer.

Online Multiplayer: Compete in both casual and ranked matches online.

Wii-Style Motion Controls Get a Comeback

The game is going to use motion controls too. Players can detach Joy-Con 2 controller from the Nintendo Switch 2, and swing it like a racket, as is prevalent in gameplay for several Nintendo Wii sports titles.

Platform and Date of Release

Mario Tennis Fever is all set to launch on February 12, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
