Yakuza 3 Remaster Partially Taken Off Sale
It's been announced by RGG studio that the 3rd of February will see the remake Yakuza Kiwami 3, which is going to be released, seeing as the partial removal of Yakuza 3 remaster existing, and this act has many connotations in the area of criticism from said fans of the series.
New Sales Approach and Bundle Problems
As announced by the studio, Yakuza 3 Remastered will not be sold alone anymore. Rather, the title will now be available as part of the Yakuza Complete Series bundle. Fans had raised a lot of comments on such an arrangement:
- At $129, it is now a bundle, and it cannot be adjusted for those who perhaps have bought some of the titles.
- On Steam, bundles reportedly cannot be purchased by users who own at least one game from the Yakuza series.
- Its PC version bundle was recently altered, with the fans stating that the modifications made it less user-friendly and a poorer value.
- During the winter sale, bundles were reportedly increased, thus cancelling out the discounted price.
A History of Similar Removals
The negative reactions from the community are increased due to the fact that this is not the first time a similar action happened from the company. Some of these cases include:
- It was stated that in December 2025, the original Yakuza 0 was removed from stores and was replaced with a costlier Director's Cut for select platforms.
- Older editions of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 had been replaced. However, new enhanced versions would require an additional fee.
- The original version of Ryu ga Gotoku: Ishin was deleted from the PlayStation Store early into 2023.
Existing Controversy of Yakuza Kiwami 3
At this point, this comes into the light of the ongoing storm surrounding the Yakuza Kiwami 3. The game involves actor Teruyuki Kagawa, who has been accused of sexual harassment. Fans, who based their argument for the actor's replacement on a similar precedent from the game judgments, were ignored for months by RGG Studio. The studio recently issued a vague comment on valuing player opinions but did not announce any changes.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 is poised for a release date of February 12. The game will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2. The game will also feature a spinoff called Dark Ties, about a character named Mina.
