NetEase Nagoshi Studio Closing and Gang of Dragon Game Future
NetEase is stopping work at Nagoshi Studio by the close of May 2026. Toshihiro Nagoshi, who used to head the Yakuza series, started this studio. It mainly worked on the game Gang of Dragon. This move shows NetEase is changing how it handles its projects, and it's unclear what will happen to the studio's first game.
NetEase has decided to suspend the studio operations of Nagoshi Studio, the team behind Gang of Dragon, at the end of May.

Since the studio is closing in May, everyone is wondering about Gang of Dragon. Even though NetEase is stopping the studio's work, the team isn't giving up on the game yet. Heres what we know
- Theyre Looking Around The main team is trying to find other companies to work with or get money from on their own to keep the project going.
- Who Owns What It's important to know who owns the Gang of Dragon idea, as this will decide if another company can keep making it.
- May is the Cut Off NetEase will stop paying for everything by May 2026.
The end of Nagoshi Studio is a big problem for the well known team Toshihiro Nagoshi put together. The studio was supposed to be a key part of NetEase's move into big console and PC games, but stopping support suggests the company is changing its plans. The staff is now going through a shift, trying to save what they've already done on their main game.
We expect more news about the game potentially moving elsewhere or the team starting a new company before the final shutdown in May. Right now, Gang of Dragon is in a uncertain place while the team works out what to do after leaving NetEase.
