TCL 27P2A Ultra 1040Hz Mini LED Gaming Monitor Launch

TCL has launched its 27P2A Ultra monitor which serves as the first Mini LED display that operates at 1040Hz refresh rate. TCL introduced its 27P2A Ultra display which represents high performance display technology on March 10 2026. The 27 inch monitor establishes a new gaming hardware benchmark by introducing Mini LED backlighting in a display that achieves more than 1000Hz refresh rate.

The 27P2A Ultra presents two operational modes which maintain high resolution display for extended time periods and deliver maximum frame rate performance. The display has two modes which divide its functions between providing high resolution output and supporting the highest possible frame rate.

Standard Mode The display operates at its native 1440p resolution with a 550Hz refresh rate. The panel can be overclocked to achieve 1040Hz operational capacity. TCL confirmed this peak frequency but has not released the resolution details for 1040Hz operation.

The monitor achieves a 1ms Gray to Gray GtG response time which enables players to see fast moving objects without any ghosting effect. TCL has included AI based processing functions which help gamers in competitive situations to work more efficiently through their work. The features include

  • Shadow Enhancement The system changes dark regions in real time to enhance visibility while maintaining the original brightness level of other areas.
  • Flash Recovery The system restores on screen contrast immediately after it experiences bright visual effects which include in game flashbangs.
  • Dynamic Crosshairs The AI controlled reticle system modifies its hue to match the background for better visibility to players.

The 27P2A Ultra uses Mini LED backlighting technology to differentiate itself from earlier ultra high refresh rate monitors which used TN or standard IPS display technology that offered lower contrast ratios. TCL uses Mini LED technology to create a high dynamic range HDR experience which meets the modern gaming standard while delivering the speed that professional eSports players need.

TCL plans to share additional product specifications and regional pricing information together with the precise release date in upcoming announcements. The device currently holds the record for highest frequency gaming monitor which has been announced in the 2026 hardware cycle.
