Gigabyte Gaming Series Power Supplies Introduce T Guard Thermal Protection and Dual Color Cable Identification for Secure Modern GPU Power Management

Gigabyte has added new power supply units to its GAMING series which provide protection for modern high load graphics cards. The T Guard system serves as the primary thermal monitoring solution which protects the 12V 2x6 interface for potential overheating scenarios.

The T Guard technology functions through an integrated array of temperature sensors positioned directly at the graphics card connector. The system implements an advanced method which allows operators to conduct their work without system interruptions because it prevents hardware failures through controlled system degradation. The power supply unit initiates an active warning when temperatures exceed established safety limits while it adjusts GPU power delivery through automatic power management. The system implements this strategy to maintain operational functions which protect against unexpected total system shutdowns.

To minimize human error which results in hardware failures, the manufacturer uses a dual color visual marking system on the 12V 2x6 cables for identification purposes. The system enables immediate visual verification of proper cable connection which prevents system problems caused by incomplete connections.

The new GAMING series meets current certification requirements because it achieves 80 Plus Gold, Cybenetics ETA Platinum, and Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ certification. The units provide compatibility with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 electrical standards which guarantee system stability for upcoming hardware requirements.

The series from Gigabyte will be available in three wattage options, which include 750W, 850W, and 1000W, with black and silver chassis designs as the only available options. The company announced the series on April 2026, but it will reveal retail prices and international shipping dates in a future announcement.
