Nvidia Blackwell and AMD Ryzen Sales Data Trends in German Retail Showing GPU Market Leadership and CPU Platform Dominance for 2026
Data covering the fourteenth and fifteenth weeks of 2026 highlights a distinct divergence between unit volume and revenue generation in the graphics card sector. According to retail metrics tracked by TechEpiphany, Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture has solidified its position as the primary driver of revenue, capturing over half of the total unit sales despite fierce competition. Conversely, AMD maintains a strong hold on the volume market, with RDNA 4 architecture proving essential for high-frequency sales, particularly within the mid-range segment where the RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT SKUs have emerged as the dominant choices for consumers.
The market reached its endpoint for high memory graphics cards because 90 percent of graphics cards sold during this time period now include 16GB or more VRAM. The industry has moved toward gaming products that require high memory usage. The higher end revenue stream belongs to Nvidia while MSU and Palit serve as the main routes for Blackwell chip distribution by board partners. These two companies together handle more than 33 percent of total Blackwell chip shipments.
The processing segment has reached a state where one company dominates the entire market. AMD now delivers power to 86 percent of all CPUs sold which makes the AM5 platform the most popular CPU throughout the measured period. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D series from X3D behaves as the premium market leader by generating most revenue through its extreme performance capability. Intel seeks to restore its lost ground by broadening the Core Ultra 200 series through LGA1851 socket implementation. The newer chips have started to gain market presence but they hold a minor share of the CPU market because AMD Zen 5 architecture has become the dominant power.
The retail market demonstrates how the DIY hardware sector now operates under two conflicting forces. Consumers now prefer GPU systems that deliver high efficiency and memory capacity combined with CPU systems that provide performance benefits through their dedicated platforms. The data shows that Intel needs to expand its market appeal beyond Core Ultra to stop AMD from becoming the dominating force in German retail for 2026 and beyond.
