Samson A Tyndalston PS5 and Xbox Series Release Confirmed After Difficult PC Launch

Samson A Tyndalston Story Faces Technical Struggles And Studio Downsizing While Liquid Swords Confirms September Console Launch For PS5 And Xbox Series

The highly anticipated debut from the veterans of Avalanche Studios has faced a difficult arrival on the market. The initial launch of Samson A Tyndalston Story as a gritty crime thriller faced technical issues and missing content which disrupted its playability. The critics of the project believe that it remains incomplete because they see similarities with famous development failures that occurred in the independent game industry. The executives at Liquid Swords continue their dedication to the project despite the negative reactions from others because they plan to expand their console reach later this year.

The Game Business interview provided Christofer Sundberg with an opportunity to show how internal studio demands created problems that affected game development at his studio. The development team had to remove many advanced role playing functions which they had planned to include because their funding situation remained unstable. The company faced financial challenges which resulted in a complete organizational change during February 2025 when the staff had to be decreased from 96 employees to 40 employees.

Sundberg accepted all negative reviews about the game while he acknowledged that the game should have reached a more complete state before launch. The game exists in its current state because the developers have been working on patches which they release almost every single day to solve the most important problems. The studio development process for console versions requires software polishing to create a stable player environment because they want to deliver a better player experience.

The studio head officially confirmed that the criminal thriller is scheduled to arrive on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series platforms this September. The team chose to pass on developing for Nintendo Switch 2 because they needed to maintain the game's visual quality between platforms. The company could not proceed with its original plan to launch on all platforms at once because its financial situation prevented a multi platform release. The PC delay situation has turned the PC community into a testing area for the studio to create a better console experience which will launch in September.
