Thick as Thieves Warren Spector Heist Game from OtherSide Entertainment Launches at Five Dollars

Thick as Thieves Warren Spector Heist Simulation Launches May 20 for Five Dollars with Full Stealth Mechanics and Map Variety

Warren Spector, the creator of Deus Ex, chooses to create games using a different method than most contemporary game developers who produce expensive products that launch with partial content. Warren Spector and his team at OtherSide Entertainment have unveiled a unique market strategy for their upcoming project, Thick as Thieves. The studio verified that the initial game will launch with a complete but smaller content package, which they will sell at a price of five dollars to establish a low cost entry point.

OtherSide Entertainment defines their project as a heist simulation which takes deep inspiration from traditional stealth video game titles. A recently released gameplay video showcases the core mechanics, focusing on specialized gadgets and the distinct abilities of various characters. The Chameleon, a character who appears in the story, possesses a unique skill which allows him to wear disguises for stealthy movement through enemy patrols. The game uses immersive mechanics to bring back the gameplay systems which Spector developed during his past work.

The decision to launch at such a low cost stems from a lack of traditional volume. The title will release with two playable maps and sixteen missions at its launch date. The initial content package will provide players with approximately four hours of gameplay. The developers wanted to let the public play core gameplay elements instead of requiring them to wait multiple months or years for additional content development. They described the current release as a foundation to be expanded upon in the future.

We want to introduce players to our vision as soon as possible.

Thick as Thieves is scheduled to appear on Steam starting on May 20. The project has undergone a significant evolution during its development cycle. The team switched their development focus from a player versus player versus environment system to a stealth thriller experience which offers players streamlined gameplay. OtherSide Entertainment will maintain regular updates after the game launch, yet the company has not published any detailed plans regarding upcoming content. The five dollar price point allows fans to participate in the development process from the beginning of the journey.
