MSI DATAMAG LITE 40 Gbps Magnetic SSD Offers High Speed USB4 Performance and Portable Storage Solutions for Professionals and Gamers
MSI introduced its DATAMAG LITE 40 Gbps portable solid state drive which allows users to transfer files between different hardware systems at high speeds.
The accessory uses USB4 interface technology according to MSI to assist professionals who need to transfer large data files between smartphones and laptops and gaming consoles. The drive uses a special attachment system to solve the issue of dangling external storage devices.
The internal system can transmit data at 4000 MB per second for reading and 3600 MB per second for writing operations. This performance level enables users to perform 4K video editing directly from the storage device while they can quickly back up extensive file collections.
Three storage tiers are available for customers to choose from according to their particular workflow needs which include:
- 1 TB storage option
- 2 TB storage option
- 4 TB storage option
The chassis construction employs lightweight aluminum alloy materials which create a portable design that weighs only 85 grams. The design contains an essential magnetic ring component which enables users to attach the unit directly onto compatible smartphones and devices. The drive remains fixed in position while recording activities and file movement operations.
The package includes a lanyard hole which enables users to carry the product through different methods. MSI provides the following accessories to customers for their compatibility needs with older USB devices:
- Long and short USB Type C cables
- USB Type C to USB Type A adapter
Users can operate drive functions through a dedicated application which MSI specifically designed for this purpose. The software displays current storage capacity and enables users to schedule automatic backups of their mobile photo and video content.
The DATAMAG LITE 40 Gbps system functions perfectly with all Windows macOS Android iOS and iPadOS devices. The system operates natively with contemporary gaming consoles and digital cameras which permit external storage recording. MSI has made the technical specifications public but the company has not revealed the retail price for their storage devices.
