Nintendo Board of Directors Leadership Changes and Executive Officer Appointments for June 2026

Nintendo Announces Significant Board of Directors Changes and New Executive Officer Appointments for 2026 Management Structure

Nintendo released an official statement from the Company Headquarters in Kyoto Japan detailing numerous changes to the company's Board of Directors and its other officers. These changes will take place after the adoption of resolutions by the current Board of Directors on the 26th of June 2026. The transaction will require a final decision at the 86 th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on the 26 th of June 2026.

The transactions include the addition of 2 new candidates as Directors of the Board in the positions of Audit and Supervisory Committee directors, Yutaka Takenaga who will be a Corporate Director but who currently holds the position of Director of the Internal Auditing Department and also to the position of Outside Director Chika Saka, Professor and Dean at the School of Business Administration at Kwansei Gakuin University. This appointment comes off the back of a March 2024 appointment to the board of Takenaka Corporation as Outside Corporate Auditor and her election in May 2025 to the position of Faculty Representative on the Board of Councilors of Kwansei Gakuin University.

Also taking place on this date is the departure of Takuya Yoshimura from his position as Corporate Director and Audit and Supervisory Committee director, as well as departing Audit and Supervisory Committee director and Outside Director Katsuhiro Umeyama. Departing as well is Keiko Akashi also an Outside Director and Audit and Supervisory Committee director. It was also announced that Executive Officer Takashi Tezuka would be departing.
