Nothing Ear open Blue Edition Features Fresh Design Inspiration and Signature Transparent Style With Long Battery Life and IP54 Rating
Nothing just got a whole lot more colorful. After nearly a year and a half of rocking nothing but white, their first open ear wearable, the Ear (open), now has a fresh new hue Blue. So long, clinical white The new model sports a light blue finish on the ear hook and the inner base of the charging case, while still rocking that signature Nothing transparency.
The design team reportedly drew inspiration from athletic environments and retro electronics to finalize the color. According to the official Nothing teaser the vision for this shade was inspired by specific imagery: “Lots of things are blue: the sky, the ocean, a 1996 era Walkman. Swimming pools, tennis courts, everything by Yves Klein. Ear (open) is blue too.” This subdued blue is intended to feel more personal and less industrial than the original white variant.
When it comes to what's under the hood, nothing has changed. Each earbud still weighs 8.1 grams and packs a 14.2 mm dynamic driver. The open ear design utilizes a customizable ear hook to keep things snug and in place while ensuring you remain aware of your surroundings. Both the earbuds and charging case are IP54 rated, meaning they're resistant to dust and water splashes. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.3, with support for AAC and SBC codecs, and you can manage audio settings and updates through the Nothing X app.
Battery life remains a key selling point, with 8 hours of listening time on a single charge and 30 hours of total playback when you factor in the charging case. If you need a quick boost, a 10 minute charge will give you up to 10 extra hours (combined with the case). The device also features Bluetooth Multipoint for seamless connection to two devices at once, and integrates with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick setup.
The pricing for the new Blue edition mirrors that of the original white version across different global markets. In the US, it's $99, in the UK it's £89, in Finland it's €109, and in France and Germany, it's €99. The Philippines pricing remains the same at PHP 8,990 and Rs 9,999 in india. While the Blue Ear (open) is already available on the official Nothing website and Amazon in many regions, it has not yet been launched in India.
As expected, the packaging is still packed with the ChatGPT integration for users paired with Nothing phones, along with familiar pinch controls for managing your music and calls. Gamers will appreciate the low lag mode, and despite the new color option, you still get the same core functionality that made the Ear (open) a unique player in the transparent audio market, along with a USB C charging cable.
