be quiet! has updated its flagship power supply family with the Dark Power Pro 14 IO series, offering up to 1600W of output and 94.9% efficiency. The hardware marks the first time the company has added software controls to a power unit, allowing users to tweak fan curves and power rails through a dedicated desktop application. The flagship units arrive on store shelves early next month starting at $479.90.
System monitoring is handled through the new be quiet! IO Center application. The program allows users to monitor real time power draw, track energy efficiency levels, and check fan speeds on the fly. Builders can also toggle between single rail and multi rail 12V configurations depending on their specific overclocking needs. The software even includes an electricity cost calculator to estimate monthly utility bills based on current power draw.
The lineup includes two models rated at 1300W and 1600W. Both units comply with the latest ATX 3.1 standard and carry native support for PCIe 5.1 graphics cards. Efficiency is a major selling point here, with both models earning 80 Plus Titanium and Cybenetics Titanium certifications. That pushes energy conversion efficiency up to 94.9% under optimal system loads.
Thermal management relies on an aluminum heatsink paired with a Silent Wings fluid dynamic bearing fan. Users can choose between active cooling, where the fan spins continuously, and semi passive operation, which keeps the fan completely silent until system loads climb. For modern graphics cards, the units provide 12V 2x6 connections alongside standard PCIe 6 plus 2 pin connectors. All cables are fully modular and wrapped in black mesh sleeving. Both models feature full protection against short circuits and power surges, carry a 10 year warranty, and retail for $479.90 for the 1300W version and $499.90 for the 1600W flagship.
