Gigabyte has launched the AORUS P1600W, a massive 1600 watt power supply designed for premium gaming PCs and local AI workstations. The fully modular unit features an integrated IPS screen to monitor power consumption alongside an 80 Plus Titanium efficiency rating. However, the manufacturer has yet to share pricing or a firm release date.
Despite the massive 1600 watt capacity, the chassis of the unit measures just 160 millimeters in length. Gigabyte managed to keep the physical footprint compact by utilizing GaN components. This compact size allows the power supply to fit into standard ATX PC cases easily, leaving ample room for tidy cable management during PC building.
The fully modular design is capable of powering demanding setups with up to 4 graphics cards simultaneously. The package includes 2 dedicated 16 pin PCIe cables and 2 universal cables to accommodate different GPU layouts. These universal cables split into a pair of 8 pin connectors and a single 16 pin connector.
An Edge View IPS display is integrated directly into the side of the chassis to output real time power consumption statistics. Users can customize the screen interface using the Gigabyte Control Center application. The hardware also syncs with the AI TOP Utility, giving users an easy way to track power loads during intensive processing tasks.
Cooling is handled by a 140 mm fan that utilizes a dual ball bearing setup for long term durability. The fan includes a smart dust cleaning feature that briefly runs in reverse upon startup to clear out debris. While the official listing is live on the Gigabyte website, retail availability remains unconfirmed.
