Xiaomi and Unisoc Rumored to Release Jointly Developed Mobile Processor

Analysts at Trendforce report that Chinese tech giants Xiaomi and Unisoc are joining forces to develop their own mobile processor. Insider information suggests the chip is already well into development and could boast impressive performance comparable to current Snapdragon and Kirin models.

Citing sources from Commercial Times and Liberty Times, reports indicate the processor will be built on a 4nm process, utilizing ARM cores and an Imagination Technologies (IMG) GPU. Tech blogger Oneline Technology claims its performance will rival the 7nm HUAWEI Kirin 9000s manufactured by SMIC.

Adding further fuel to the fire, insider Fixed Focus reveals that a 4nm Unisoc chip has already reached the "taped-out" phase, meaning its design is finalized and ready for production. This chip is said to offer performance comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. While an official release date remains unconfirmed, rumors point to a 2026 launch.
