Why We Use Scores
At Technetbook, we believe a good review should help you make a confident decision about a product, game or technology. Our reviews are based on hands-on testing, research, real-world use and the experience of our reviewers.
We cover a wide range of technology and gaming, including laptops, smartphones, tablets, PC hardware, gaming products, gadgets, cars, software and video games. Because every category is different, our testing process and review criteria are adapted to the product or game being reviewed.
The numerical score provides a quick summary of our overall opinion, but it is not a replacement for the full review. We encourage readers to read the complete review to understand the strengths, weaknesses, performance, features and value behind the score.

Our Review Scale
Technetbook uses the full 1–10 scoring scale. A score below 7 does not automatically mean a product or game is bad, and a score of 10 does not mean something is literally perfect.
Products and games are judged according to their intended purpose, category, competition, features, performance, reliability, usability and value.
Exceptional
An outstanding product or game that represents the very best of its category. Exceptional performance, design, features, quality and value.
Excellent
An exceptional product or game with very few meaningful weaknesses. An easy recommendation for most users.
Great
A highly capable product or game that gets most things right. It may have some limitations, but remains an excellent choice.
Good
A solid product or game that performs well and delivers a generally positive experience, with some noticeable compromises.
Okay
A reasonably capable product or game with worthwhile qualities, but significant weaknesses prevent an easy recommendation.
Mediocre
An average product or game that does what it is supposed to do but offers little that makes it stand out.
Disappointing
A product or game with substantial weaknesses that negatively affect the overall experience.
Poor
A product or game with serious problems in performance, design, usability, reliability, features or value.
Awful
A fundamentally flawed product or game that fails to meet reasonable expectations for its category.
Disaster
A product or game that fails at its core purpose and provides virtually no meaningful reason to recommend it.
What Our Scores Consider
Depending on the type of product or game, our reviews may consider a range of factors. Not every criterion applies to every category.
Price and Value Matter
A product or game is not judged solely by its specifications, features or technical capabilities. Price plays an important role in our final verdict.
A product with excellent specifications may still receive a lower score if it is significantly more expensive than competing products without providing enough additional benefit.
Likewise, an affordable product or game can score highly when it provides an excellent experience for its price.
Specifications are important, but they are only one part of our evaluation. Performance, quality, usability, features, competition and price all contribute to the final verdict.
Pros and Cons
Our reviews include a list of Pros and Cons to provide a quick overview of the product or game.
Pros highlight the product's or game's strongest qualities and advantages.
Cons identify meaningful weaknesses, limitations, compromises or areas that could be improved.
A product or game can have several cons and still receive a high score if its strengths substantially outweigh those weaknesses.
Reviewer Judgment
Scores represent the informed judgment of the reviewer who tested and evaluated the product or game.
Technology and gaming are not completely objective. Different users and players have different priorities, and a feature that is important to one person may be irrelevant to another.
For this reason, scores should not be treated as an absolute measurement of quality or compared without considering the product's category, price and intended audience.
The most important part of any Technetbook review is the complete analysis behind the score.
Re-evaluations & Updates
Technology and games can change over time. Games may receive patches, updates, new content, balance changes or performance improvements, while technology products can receive firmware and software updates, price changes or other changes after launch.
However, Technetbook scores are permanent.
Once a review is published and a score is assigned, we do not change the original score. The score represents our assessment of the product or game based on our testing, research, pricing and the conditions available at the time of the original review.
If significant changes occur after publication, such as a major game patch, firmware update, software update or price change, we may publish a separate article covering those changes.
This means a Technetbook score should always be understood as a fixed assessment at the time of review.

Our reviews are based on hands-on testing, research, practical use, and editorial evaluation. Whenever possible, we test products and games in real-world conditions rather than relying solely on specifications or manufacturer claims.

For games, our evaluation focuses on gameplay mechanics, controls, graphics, audio, narrative, content, progression, technical stability, accessibility, and the overall player experience.
Where applicable, we may use industry-standard or commonly available benchmarks and testing tools. Benchmark results are considered alongside real-world use rather than being treated as the sole basis for a score.
Testing conditions can also affect results. Hardware configuration, software versions, drivers, firmware, game patches, operating system versions, and environmental factors can influence performance.
We aim to disclose important testing conditions when they are relevant to the results so readers can better understand how our conclusions were reached.
Review Updates & Correction Policy
Accuracy is important to us. If we discover a factual error in a Technetbook review, we will correct it as soon as reasonably possible.
Minor corrections, such as spelling mistakes, incorrect specifications or factual errors.
We do not retroactively change scores because of later patches, firmware updates, driver updates, price changes, new competitors or changes in the product or game after the original review.
If a product or game changes substantially over time, readers should consider the original review score as Technetbook's assessment at the time it was reviewed, together with any subsequent update information we provide.
