Single-Core Performance

The Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 scored 2,894 points in Geekbench's single-core test. This puts it on par with the Ryzen 9 7945HX, the more recent Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and even the low-power Intel Core Ultra 9 288V. However, it falls behind the Intel Core i9-14900HX. The CPU's peak frequency was recorded at 5.2 GHz in a detailed frequency table, while the main benchmark listing reported a boost clock at 3.939 GHz, suggesting optimization work is needed.

Multi-Core Performance

The sixteen Zen 5 cores on the AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 show a significant performance boost in multi-core workloads. It scored 20,708 points, outperforming the aforementioned CPUs and offering a 25% uplift over the Ryzen 9 7945HX (16,765 average score).

Comparison to Apple M4 Pro

While the Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 shows impressive results compared to its x86 competitors, it is outperformed by Apple's Arm-based M4 Pro, which scored 3,382 and 22,527 points in Geekbench 6.3, despite having 2 fewer CPU cores.

Memory and Optimization

The benchmarked system included 24 GB of memory reported running at 1,944 MT/s while it is rumored to run at 8,000 MT/s. AMD and Asus have time to address these issues, as the Strix Halo is expected to launch next year.
