MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Leak: Targeting 4 Million AnTuTu Score

According to news from a very reliable source called Digital Chat Station, news about the upcoming flagship chip from MediaTek, allegedly called the Dimensity 9500, has leaked. And if the leaks are anything to go by, we could be looking at a beast that changes the benchmark in benchmarking tests.

The most interesting rumor? This new chip is allegedly aiming for an AnTuTu score of no less than 4 million points! That's a figure that would clearly redefine what we think of as high-end smartphone processors.

Into the Specs

Let's take a look at what makes this would-be beast tick, as per the leak from the insider:

  • Advanced Manufacturing: The Dimensity 9500 is supposedly built on TSMC's newest 3nm N3P process that should bring significant efficiency and performance gains.
  • CPU Configuration: It is allegedly going to have an octa-core CPU configuration. This includes a single super high-performance Cortex-X930 Travis core, three high-performance Cortex-X930 Alto cores, and four power-efficient Cortex-A730 Gelas cores. Notably, the X930 Travis and Alto cores are from the brand-new Arm X9 generation and support the SME instruction set for improved processing.
  • Graphics Muscle: In terms of graphics, the chip is expected to use the Immortalis-Drage GPU. The graphics processor is said to include ray tracing technology and, surprisingly, provides relatively low power consumption despite the performance.
  • AI Capabilities: The chip will also be equipped with an NPU 9.0 neuromodule. Leaks suggest the AI engine could provide astounding performance, with as much as 100 TOPS of artificial intelligence performance.

Memory and Storage

Other than the primary processing, the Dimensity 9500 must also be capable of supporting the latest in memory and storage technology:

  • LPDDR5X-10667 high-speed RAM support.
  • Compatibility with fast UFS 4.1 storage drives.

What We Don't Know Yet

While these specifications are certainly exciting, the leak doesn't mention a release date for the Dimensity 9500 chip or which phone models will first utilize it. We'll have to keep an eye out for official announcements to find that out.

If these leaks turn out to be true, MediaTek is positioning the Dimensity 9500 to be a serious contender at the very top of the mobile chip market, pushing the performance limits for future flagship smartphones.
