Motorola Book 60 Laptop and Pad 60 Pro Tablet Announced
Is Motorola entering the laptop arena? Yes. Motorola has just announced the coming launch of their very first laptop, the Book 60, and a new tablet, the Pad 60 Pro. Details are slowly surfacing. Motorola is poised to make a big impact in these new markets.
Motorola Book 60: OLED Laptop on the Horizon
Let's start with the Book 60 laptop. Early reports from retailer Flipkart indicate a rich 14-inch OLED display. It will feature 2.8K resolution for crisp photos and up to 500-nit brightness. This should endure even in sunny weather. The processor will be an Intel Core 7 series chip. Battery life is noted as a 60Wh battery, chargeable via USB Type-C.
Motorola is highlighting its lightness at just 1.4 kg in weight. For sound, it appears Motorola is offering dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support. They are making an effort to make it a well-rounded mobile experience.
Motorola Pad 60 Pro: A Tablet for "Cyber Sports"?
Now, on to the Pad 60 Pro tablet. This one features a larger 12.7-inch IPS display with a crisp 3K resolution. Additionally, it has a 144Hz refresh rate. Motorola is calling this a "cyber sports" display. This suggests they are targeting gamers or users who want super-smooth visuals.
The Pad 60 Pro is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip, which will deliver decent performance. To keep it going for long sessions, it features a big 10,200 mAh battery and 45W fast charging. Audio is another area of emphasis, with four speakers and seemingly, a Pen Pro stylus included.
Coming Soon to India
The initial release date for Motorola Book 60 and Pad 60 Pro will be April 17th in India. Pricing details are not yet available. These details are expected to become public when it is released. It will be interesting to see how Motorola will position these devices and if they will reach other markets later on.
