Beelink GTR9 Pro: A Strix Halo Powered Mini-PC Emerges
The world of mini-PCs is getting a serious shot in the arm, and Beelink is squarely in the midst of the fray. They've recently launched their latest creation, the GTR9 Pro, a compact form factor PC based on AMD's muscular Strix Halo platform. It seems the trickle of Strix Halo PCs is turning into a flood.
While big names like Asus and HP were the first to show the potential of Strix Halo, smaller enthusiast brands like Beelink are now bringing their own competitive interpretations to market. The GTR9 Pro will become part of Beelink's lineup, adding another flavor of small form factor computing to their portfolio alongside their AI Mini (which appears to be a story for another day).
Familiar Looks, Powerful Guts
First impressions. The GTR9 Pro's design might give you a sense of déjà vu. Beelink appears to have taken a leaf out of Apple's design book, with the GTR9 Pro striking a visual chord that's somewhere between the Mac Studio and Mac mini in terms of physical stature. It's a tidy, compact look that will suit a lot of people.
Taking a look at the front images, Beelink has managed to incorporate several forward-facing features. You have:
- Four microphones – great for decent voice input.
- A regular 3.5mm audio jack.
- A handy SD card reader.
- A versatile USB Type-C port.
And for those that appreciate practical design, the power button looks to be in a much more convenient location than on Apple's latest Mac mini.
Don't Let the Size Fool You: This Thing is Packed
Underneath that slim body, the GTR9 Pro is shaping up to be a real performer. Beelink is aiming to deliver performance that would make even Apple's M4 Pro-equipped Mac mini sit up and take notice. The heart of this machine is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU – the very same chip used in other performance mini-PCs like GMKtec's EVO-X2.
Memory will also not be an issue. Beelink has revealed that the GTR9 Pro will be configurable with up to 96GB of VRAM. By that, it likely implies that a whopping 128GB of RAM will be soldered directly onto the motherboard, allowing for plenty of headroom for demanding workloads.
Coming Soon: Price and Availability
So, how much does this little powerhouse set you back. Beelink has announced a launch price of $1,999 for the GTR9 Pro. Availability-wise, they're keeping that slightly under their hats for now, only saying it's "coming soon."
The Beelink GTR9 Pro is definitely one to watch out for if you're looking for serious performance in a small form factor, especially if you're curious about what AMD's Strix Halo platform has to offer.
