Chuwi Enters High-End Gaming with the "GameBook"

Well-known for affordable hardware, Chuwi is making a grand jump into the high-end high-performance gaming notebook market with its latest "GameBook." It's not just a symbolic entry; Chuwi seems to be loading this beast with some serious hardware with the aim of getting noticed by the hardcore gamer.

Under the Hood: What Drives the GameBook.

Chuwi is not skimping on the necessities. At the heart of the GameBook is the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor. This beast, built on the new Zen 5 architecture, features 16 cores and 32 threads, all turboing to a 5.4 GHz clock speed. Equipped with a serious 64MB of L3 cache and TDP adjustable to up to 55W, this chip is designed to fuel demanding AAA titles, hardcore multitasking, and heavy content creation without breaking a sweat. It's one of the most powerful mobile processors showcased at CES 2025.

Paired with this CPU is the brand-new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU. Fresh off the shelves, this graphics card is made for gamers, creators, and AI fans. With 12GB of next-gen GDDR7 VRAM and a 140W TGP, expect complete ray tracing support and high-performance AI acceleration up to 1406 AI TOPS. Using NVIDIA's Blackwell RTX architecture, the RTX 5070 Ti brings DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation to the equation, providing exceptionally smooth gameplay and cinematic visuals. Chuwi boasts that it can provide stunning performance in games like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077, even handling high frame rates at 2.5K and 4K resolutions with full ray tracing.

A Display Built for Speed and Beauty

The graphics are displayed on a 16-inch IPS display. We're talking about a sharp 2.5K (2560 x 1600) resolution, but the real highlight is the blazing-fast 300Hz refresh rate. This, combined with 100% sRGB color space and 500 nits peak brightness, should be an excellent balance between brightness, deep color, and silky smooth motion, perfect for gaming and content creation alike. The 16:10 aspect ratio also gives you a bit more vertical screen real estate.

Room to Grow: Memory and Storage

It looks like flexibility is the top priority. The GameBook will sport two SO-DIMM slots for up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM (with potential for a maximum of 64GB, say Chuwi). Storage consists of two M.2 2280 slots – one for an accelerated PCIe 5.0 SSD and the other for a PCIe 4.0 SSD. Expect a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD on the pack, which would make an awesome point of entry to your gaming collection and data files.

Keeping it Cool and Connected

To manage the heat produced by these high-performance components, the GameBook has a high-tech cooling system that includes two fans and three heat pipes. It is driven by a 77.77Wh battery and includes fast charging – up to 250W via its DC input or a simple 140W via its back USB Type-C port. A 250W power adapter will accompany it.

Connectivity is extremely solid too. You've got Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5Gb Ethernet for solid wired connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2. Port numbers are generous:

  • Left Side: 2.5Gb RJ45, USB-C (PD 100W), USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 3.5mm audio jack.
  • Rear: USB-C (PD 140W), DC-in, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI 2.1.
  • Right Side: Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, lock slot.

The GameBook will be pre-installed with a full-sized keyboard that includes per-key RGB backlighting (yes, even color-syncing with music.) and a number row, all at Windows 11.

What's the Catch. Price and Availability

While the specs are worthy, there is no release date or price announced by Chuwi for the GameBook. Just remember that the outside and several other aspects recall the XMG Neo 16 2025, only that GameBook features an IPS screen instead of Mini LED. To receive the rest of the information, you need to keep an eye on Chuwi's website.

Curiously enough, Chuwi is also running a survey on their website, with a chance to win some of their other products for those who give feedback. Looks like they're eager to gauge interest in their new gaming business.
