Lenovo Unveils Legion 9i: A Gaming Powerhouse with Glasses-Free 3D
Lenovo just rolled back the curtains on its brand-new Legion 9i, and it looks like a solid contender for "most powerful gaming laptop" status. This rig isn't only about brute strength; it's also introducing some seriously showy features, like a screen capable of displaying 3D images without the benefit of any special glasses. It also has an innovative case design and a connectivity package that will leave you in no need of anything else.
A New Standard in Gaming Monitors
Consider this: losing yourself in your favorite games in 3D, but with no clunky glasses. The Legion 9i makes it possible. You'll be able to select from a regular 18-inch display or one that supports this revolutionary 3D technology. Lenovo says that around 30 of the best titles are already supported for the 3D mode, including heavy hitters like Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5, Black Myth: Wukong, God of War Ragnarok, and Genshin Impact. That's a fairly impressive list to experience in a whole new way.
When you're in 3D mode, the screen is operating at a crisp 1920x1200 resolution with a silky-smooth 240Hz refresh rate. Go into standard 2D, and you can push it to a stunning 3840x2400 at 240Hz, or even opt for a blisteringly quick 1080p at 440Hz for hardcore gaming.
Under the Hood: Pure Performance
What powers this beast. At its heart, you'll find an Intel Ultra 9 275HX processor, beautifully matched by a dedicated GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. That's top-shelf performance right there. And if that's not enough, the Legion 9i can be outfitted with a whopping maximum of 192 GB of RAM and up to 8 TB of storage. Lag. We don't know her.
Connectivity is also taken care of. The case is filled with ports, including:
- Thunderbolt 5
- Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
- A USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port
- An Ethernet jack
- An HDMI 2.1 port
Wireless connectivity-wise, you're set with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. Even the webcam gets a boost to 5-megapixel resolution, so you'll be looking good on those video calls.
A Design That's Uniquely Yours
Lenovo is adding its own personal touch to the Legion 9i as well. As described by the company, the carbon fiber design that appears on the lid of both systems will be "random" or no two will be perfectly identical. That's a nice way to personalize your pricey box.
While the Lenovo Legion 9i has been released in China, we're still waiting for news on its official release date and price. But one thing's for sure: this laptop is going to cause some waves in the gaming world.
