Microsoft Introduces "Copilot for Gaming" Beta on Xbox Mobile
Microsoft has just rolled out their beta version of "Copilot for Gaming" for mobile apps. If you're on iOS or Android soon, an AI-powered assistant will be ready to help you on your way to victory in your favorite Xbox titles. You are only able to avail of this early look right now as a part of a select few countries through the beta version of the Xbox mobile app.
So who gets to be the very first users of this "ultimate gaming sidekick". There's quite the long list, including Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Mexico, the UK, the USA, and many more spread across the globe. Microsoft clearly wants to hear from all corners.
What This Gaming Copilot Can Actually Do
Imaging having a helper on a second screen who won't interfere with your game. That's the idea behind Copilot for Gaming. It is supposed to know what game you are currently playing and what Xbox activities are on your agenda. This means it would:
- Give answers to your questions about certain games that interest you.
- Provide links to more information if its answers came from the web.
- Help answer questions related to your own Xbox account, such as play history and achievements.
Think about it like this: you could ask:
- "Hey Copilot, what do I need to craft a sword in Minecraft."
- If you're stuck on a tough boss in a game like South of Midnight, you could ask, "Any tips for beating Rougarou."
- Looking for something new. Try, "Can you recommend a recently released RPG on Xbox."
- Curious about bragging rights. "What’s the rarest achievement in Avowed."
- Need a game to match your mood. "I love horror movies. What game should I play."
- Want to recall your recent triumphs. "What was my last achievement in Starfield."
- Or even practical stuff like, "When does my Game Pass subscription renew."
This Is Just the Start
Like any/A typical beta, this is the really early version, with plans to make Copilot for Gaming better over time with additional personalization and proactive tips. They really want player feedback, so if you're in the beta, there is a way to give your thoughts through the app, or just give a thumbs up or down to its answers.
Xbox sees itself as a friend to help you make time for all the fun you're having and appear only when you want it. I really like that idea.
How to Get Involved (If You're Eligible)
If you're in any of the supported countries and currently using the beta version of the Xbox mobile app, feel free to begin testing now. Those on the Android side can nab the beta app from the Google Play Store. If you're an iOS user and missed out on this beta app, don't fret too much-Microsoft says early testing will also come to Game Bar on Windows PC pretty soon, and plans to go ahead with broader release within the Xbox mobile app in the near future.
Microsoft emphasizes the early sharing of these features to be sure they are building something the players actually want. Thus, when and if you get this time, your feedback will remain crucial in shaping this gaming buddy.
