MSI Introduces PinSafe Design: A Smoother Build Experience at Computex 2025

MSI is making those little ouches obsolete with an innovative show at Computex 2025.

Introducing "PinSafe Design": A Smoother Experience

PinSafe Design is one cool idea that MSI came up with. Basically, MSI is changing the whole way components are soldered onto the backside of its motherboards. Instead of those good old sharp, pointy leads which protrude, PinSafe features flat, nicely soldered pads. It sounds so simple. Makes you wonder why this wasn't a norm some time ago.

The first user-friendly treatment is being given to the B850MPOWER, a board designed for enthusiasts and overclockers and, of course, MSI's first MPOWER board based on an AMD chipset.

More than Just Comfort

MSI also thinks that designs with the PinSafe will provide these advantages:

  • Electrostatic Protection: Smoother surfaces mean lesser area for risk from static discharge.
  • Overall System Stability Could Be Improved: The theory here is that the lesser amount of protruding sharp things reduce the chances for accidental short circuits or unwanted contacts between components. Every little thing helps when you are pushing your system.

Into the B850MPOWER

The B850MPOWER, where PinSafe makes its debut, is not just about a smooth back. It is outfitted for serious performance, with:

  • Two DIMM slots optimized for stable DDR5 memory overclocking,
  • A built-in EZ Dashboard with control and debug buttons – a real lifesaver for tweakers,
  • Memory support comes from the Dragon Alliance.

That would be a small thing, but surely the majority of the builders will appreciate it. Hats off to MSI for actually thinking about small things that matter during the building process.
